Thomas Pacchia is a bitcoin and decentralized internet technology specialist focused on direct investments into cryptocurrencies and angel/seed stage infrastructure development projects. Thomas currently serves as the Founder and CIO of HODL Capital following five years of successful product development and investing in the bitcoin and blockchain space.
Prior to HODL, Thomas was a Director of Fidelity Investment's Blockchain Incubator and founding member of Fidelity's new business unit dedicated to bitcoin and crypto-assets: Fidelity Digital Assets. In 2015, Thomas was the 9th employee at the blockchain software start-up Digital Asset Holdings. While at DA, Thomas helped develop the blockchain proof-of-concepts that led to DA’s $60m Series A round funding. Thomas began his career at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and BNP Paribas as a swap and derivative negotiator in their Capital Markets practices.
Thomas holds a M.Sc. in Finance from NYU Stern, a J.D. from Washburn University, an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Maastricht University. While at NYU, Thomas wrote his Master’s Thesis on the Merchant Adoption of Bitcoin and was a Guest Lecturer at the first ever graduate level bitcoin course jointly offered by NYU Stern and NYU Law.
